Obama Says Full Steam Ahead For Nationalized Healthcare
By Jeffrey Paulsen on January 31, 2010, 12:07 pm Posted in Finance NewsIt seems Obama’s only concern is nationalizing the greatest health care system in the world on the backs of 1/6th of our economy and industries that employ private citizens; and passing Cap & Tax to control even more of the finances and lives of every American citizen.
The Blame Game
“To listen to Republican debate, you would think that this plan for health care is part of a Bolshevik plot. If it wasn’t for Republican obstructionism and just saying ‘No’, we could have passed the health care reform bill.” In spite of the 60 a filibuster-proof vote in the Senate and majority in the House of Representative all last year, the Republicans had no power. In reality, their problem was dissension among the liberal and the blue-dog Democrats due to differing allegiances — one to the far left and the other to the American people who can vote them out of office in 2010. However, “we are not going to quit now, not when we are so close.”
The United States In Turmoil — An Uncivil Civil War Of Ideas
This president has taken steps to control the banks, the auto industry and the voucher program for private schools in New York for African Americans. He is attempting to take control of the health and the energy industries. He hoped to do both by the end of his first year. Initially, the hospitals, the physicians and the pharmaceuticals were against this administration’s health care reform bill as presented. However, backroom deals were discussed and miraculously their objections were removed. The pharmaceutical industry was told it would not have to lower drug prices if they backed the health care reform bill. The physicians who now support it are the AMA board of directors and some members. However, only about 33% of the physicians in the U.S. are a members of the AMA. The hospitals were threatened with closure, decreased funding and fewer beds unless they towed the line. So a most did.
Town Hall Meetings
Meanwhile a substantial number of Americans (Democrats, Independents, and Republicans) attended town hall meetings and tea parties to protest the rather obvious attempt at a power grab by our current administration — the Executive Branch, Congress, and indirectly the numerous presidential appointed czars, all of whom appear to answer to the far left ideology of the few and elite. The participants of the tea parties and town hall meetings were subsequently vilified, and not just by the media but by our president and members of the liberal Congress as well. Republicans in office have offered alternative ways of decreasing health care cost with competition between all 50 states, tort reform and taking care of the 12% uninsured, which is probably more now since we have lost so many jobs this past year; and people no longer have group insurance with their company, if they are not employed or are underemployed, and leave the rest of us alone. Let’s use any needed health care reform funds to care for them. It would be a lot less expensive and the U.S. would continue to have the best health care system in the world that citizens of other countries flock to. Remember Medicaid, free clinics and ER services currently take care of the indigent and illegals.
Health Care Insurance Reform — A Weapon Or A Boon
A legitimate concern that has been raised but not realistically answered, is how are we going to provide health care insurance for everyone, while decreasing its cost? By itself this statement is absurd, unless they intend to implement restricted access to medical care; which would have the effect of long waiting periods and decreased quality of health care for everyone, and most especially for the very young, the disabled and the elderly, who would not score high enough points to gain optimum treatment. According to how the most current bill reads, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services will be controlling the number of visits and quality of care, similar to HMO passed in the early ‘90s, but 10,000 times more potent.
