Immigration Reform: Texas Tax Payers Say They Will Pay

By Jeffrey Paulsen on September 1, 2010, 9:19 am Posted in Finance News

Residents of Texas and other border states may have to pay the bill for immigration reform. Texas, the second largest state, also shares a large portion of its border with Mexico. The federal government, as evidence by its opposition to the Arizona law has done little to stop the flow of illegal immigrants across the border. As the largest border state, Texas taxpayers may feel that they may end up paying the largest portion of the bill if anything meaningful does go through.

Texans Still Want Something Done

Illegal immigrant advocacy groups have mistakenly identified Pennsylvania as a state friendly to them, but Pennsylvanians want the borders secured as much as Texas does and many of them have gotten fed up with the illegal immigrants who come to their state to soak up welfare benefits. Texans, however, deal with the problem on a much broader scale. The lack of response from the federal government has become a frustration from many people. Sadly, Obama’s claim that he has done more than any other President to secure the border is true. His predecessors have done nothing. He’s put up signs discouraging people from entering the United States illegally. Both tactics are equally as effective.

Will Citizens Take Immigration Reform Into Their Own Hands

Democrats promise immigration reform as a campaign issue. Republicans have also promised this. Though, the meanings are different, and neither party has done anything to actually solve the problem. The Minute Men organization is one response to the problem and the Obama administration has turned requests of Arizona sheriffs for legitimate equipment to stop it. Texas has gone so far as encouraging its citizens to carry arms to prevent the same problems. Unless the federal government stops delaying and does something citizens will start acting on a vigilante basis to stop illegal immigrants and that is a dangerous proposition.

All in the country must wake up to what the illegals are costing the taxpayers.

Hundreds of thousands of anchor babies born each year on the taxpayer dime. These children then need medical funding and education.

This population creating the anchor babies have a graduation rate of 40% and falling. They also have an illegitamcy rate of 50% and rising.

We must force the politicians to act to protect America. The population coming in doesn’t want to assimilate. They want to turn America into Mexico and they are well on their way.

hey, taxpayer please read this.and every one is welcometo read too. The congressional panel, sitting as a jury, found that Rangel had used House stationery and staff to solicit money for a New York college center named after him. It also concluded he solicited donors for the center with interests before the Ways and Means Committee, leaving the impression the money could influence official actions.

He also was found guilty of failing to disclose at least $600,000 in assets and income in a series of inaccurate reports to Congress; using a rent-subsidized New York apartment for a campaign office, when it was designated for residential use; and failure to report to the IRS rental income from a housing unit in a Dominican Republic resort.
