When Are The Unemployment Checks Going To Be Sent Out
By Ashley Jones on August 4, 2010, 8:05 am Posted in Economy NewsRelief has come for millions of Americans who have been out of work. President Obama has signed a $34 billion extension to jobless aid. Millions of Americans have been cut off from unemployment benefits, as of June 2010 when the federal emergency aid ran out. Now checks are being sent out retroactively and benefits are being restored due to President Obama signing the extension. This extension not only saved those who have recently lost benefits but those who were facing the lose of benefits in the upcoming months. The extension is a life saver to many unemployed. However, it is unable to help those who have exceeded the 99 week maximum.
Unemployment Checks Are Being Renewed
This is much needed news to the millions of unemployed in America. The only negative is that it will take several weeks before the new unemployment checks will be mailed or deposited into bank accounts. The extension has been signed and the funds are in process. Nonetheless, this process takes weeks and those who are unemployed are desperate for funds now.
The calculation being used to figure out specific benefits are being based on state specific unemployment rates and other factors. These calculations are complicated and are hard to understand for those in need of unemployment benefits. Many are wondering who is eligible for further benefits and how long will it take to receive these benefits. The answers to these questions are based on the individual calculations mentioned above. The specific weeks you are eligible for benefits varies per state. Additionally, the dollar amount received per unemployed person varies by state. These amount range from just below $300 to slightly over $600 per week. The amount of benefits also depends on your pay rate received while you were working.
For those lucky enough to qualify, the extension unemployment checks and deposits will be sent out in a couple of weeks.

Tier 5 – I have been unemployed since July 9, 2008 and I guess I am a 99er. My unemployment has stopped. If Tier 5 Extension passes would I be included. I believe I am now a Tier 4 and out of luck.
Please pass this bill, there are no jobs available out there. Money is very tight (61) and everything helps – please respond and thank you from all the 99ers.
