Glenn Beck: Shirley Sherrod White House Firing Was A Political Setup

The Cast
Glenn Beck is a commentator for Fox News and it was Fox News which originally broke the story about Sherrod making what appeared to be racist statements before a gathering of the NAACP.
In the taped segment, Sherrod is seen and heard telling the group she did not do all she could do to help a white farmer with financial troubles. But she says the statement was an anecdote made in 1986, about racial attitudes at that time. She says, however, she also had realized the predicament of the farmer was not a race thing but was a poor versus not poor matter and she did try and help the man. And did so for more than two years winding up being friends with the farmer and his family.
The Response Was Quick
Despite this, the NAACP has roundly criticized Sherrod. She was fired from her job as the USDA’s Director of Rural Development in Georgia reportedly on orders from the White House.
Glen Beck Sees Some Issues
Beck contends the firing was premature and perhaps wrong, citing the full context of the statement made twenty four years ago. Beck is, also, questioning the lack of media scrutiny in its coverage of Sherrod asking why the mainstream media is not asking the proper questions about this. Instead he says, tongue in cheek, there is more interest in what Lindsey Lohan wore to jail. According to Beck it would appear the firing is intended to make Sherrod a sacrificial lamb for the Americans who, he says, are growing concerned about, what Beck says, is the obvious reverse racism seen now in the country. Beck also points out the timing of the firing just happens to coincide with the start of the election season.

OH thank you so much GLenn for reviewing the times & dates of events re Shirely & the video on TV. BUT PLEASE, I am going to present this to a BIG group of Democratic Independents in Orange County this weekend hoping to make them see what is happening with this admonistration & the left media!!- as I have already PLEASE can you list on line/here, when the interactions between the panthers & Naacp hopw all that started, as NAACP was blaming Tea party as racist. When this was in realtion to the march 10 date that Naacp called Andrew brightbart. and when Did Brightbart actually get the video.?
I noticed this am even on the view Elizabeth Hasselback must have been told to keep her mouth shut.She could have explained that NO NO Shirely had been asked to resign BEFORE FOX/Oreilly aired this. NO!Shirley had already been asked to resign before O’Reilly the 1st to even air the video on FOX) aired the video. I will tape Glens’ show tonight, BUT I still want dates of Naacp remarkes re tea party!!! I want to prove FOX was set up & Blamed NOT the fox set up the liberal media & white house. Oh my god they all LIED!
Why has attention been diverted from the real culprits — FOX “Lying” News?? The real story shouldn’t be about the White House but about the the use of edited, and misleading tapes from the right wing. The Tea Party absolutely has racist elements, but does that make it all right to create a misleading story by tampering with tapes?? A lesson for the left and the White House. Take a real hard look at any so-called Republican stories ’cause you can’t believe anything they say — especially FOX “no” News.
Obama falling for the oldest trick in Fox’s book…taking things out of context. They do it all the time! I can’t believe they took it hook line and sinker…actually I do believe it, as the democrats cow down to those weasels WAY to much. If anything, perhaps those who can’t see for themselves, might take a different perspective on the crap Fox spews forth on a daily basis. The only way to believe their BS is that you WANT to believe… Corporate whores using the Christian + American = PATRIOT bait that seems to work so well for them…shame
Ah, the sock puppet liberals. How so like them to attack and accuse but fail completely to put down any evidence to support their accusations. Take this “silverrocket person. You see how he/she attacks Fox News? “They do it all the time”. Now if this were true, wouldn’t it be easy to list a few examples? And here we have someone called kaybitt, writing, “Take a real hard look at any so-called Republican stories ’cause you can’t believe anything they say — especially FOX “no” News.” Isn’t that so intelligent? Obviously this person watches Fox News daily, or not. Why don’t you idiots try to get to the truth? America has fallen, and just as predicted by Khrushchev many years ago, it fell from within. We will see how the next generation likes their new country.
Watch Fox News long enough and you can see the pattern very clearly. Anything negative that happens is “Obama’s fault.” The oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico has suddenly become because “Obama wasn’t paying attention,” or “waited too long to act.” The scandal in the Dept. of Interior “is due to Obama’s lack of control over his political appointee Salazar,” even though everyone in the department was hired or appointed during the Bush administration. All Fox News does is take a crisis and then find a way to tie Obama to it, whether or not he’s had any involvement or not. Why? Because of the “Southern Strategy”! Play to fears of whites and southern elements who fear that blacks and minorities will get the edge because of Obama’s race. It’s always pointed toward Obama and there is clearly only one real reason – he is black – and they want him to look bad to poison the waters for any other blacks who might want to follow him to the White House. They did the same with Kennedy – also a “southern strategy” claiming he was a papist and that Rome would control America. They laid the blame for all the civil rights turmoil on his and Bobby’s laps – led by the same elements of the Republican and Democratic party then as now. They are all for personal freedom as long as it is for whites and the wealthy.
Actually John, watch MSNBC and realize that the liberal propaganda machine who took cheap shots at Bush and is STILL taking shots…
Bottom line, Americans are sick and tired of the rcae card being played and the coming elections will prove it.

How intersting Glenn Beck is pointing fingers at the administration, whats new…..From what I read he is as guilty as the white house for not doing his homework. It would have been very interesting to have seen what would have happened if the white house had watched the whole video and, let Beck go on air with the charges of racism in the administration. But alas…..knee jerk reaction and the cya attitude prevails.
The white house and the dem’s as a whole dismiss Beck, but I wonder really how much they pay attention to what he has to say. It looks like he’s more worrisome to them than they are willing to admit.
