Economy: Grassroots Tea Party Movement Shifting Nov. Midterm Elections

By Ashley Jones on April 10, 2010, 9:36 am Posted in Economy News

The Tea Party movement is evolving. Republicans are amazed that the movement is not marching in “lock step” with their philosophy. Dick Armey and others are trying to take over the movement to push Republican party principles on them. But, why should the movement be a mouthpiece of the Republican party? Many Republican party members voted for the Bush/Paulson bailout. Anyone voting for this first bailout can hardly qualify as real “free market” individuals.

Tea Party Asserts Its Independence

The Tea Party movement is showing its independence. They are not supporting ordained Republicans nominees, like John McCain. They are pushing a grassroots philosophy of less government, something President Bush did not follow. Many members of the movement are independents and Democrats.

This November is a “wild card” election. It depends on how powerful the movement becomes and which candidates it supports. Unfortunately, it can never be a third party in an election at the national level. This is because it is too difficult to get on the ballot as a third party. Ask Mayor Bloomberg of New York who investigated this well. This man wanted to be President and if he did not run as an independent, there was good reason for this decision.

The Tea Party Needs To Be The True Voice Of Capitalism

The Tea Party should adhere to the tried and true principles of Capitalism before it became crony capitalism. As of now they are true to this ideal. They do not want their money taken in massive property tax levies that are meant to support unions. The property tax is the unions’ lifeline to unfair and large unearned benefits.

The Tea Party is a powerful group now. This is a fact because if it was not so, they would not be attacked by their opponents, often and with venom. November will tell if they succeed.

Is it any wonder that the Tea Party movement
eschews any Republican? It is Reps. & Dems.
alike, who have dragged this country down over the past 30 years to where we find ourselves
today. And IT IS TIME for a third party in
America, so that concerned, patriotic, voting
citizens can have a fresh answer to the domestic issues that face this nation.

Tea Party should get their own candidates on the ballot in the coming November elections, where ever they could. Otherwise they become a mouth piece of Republican Party. Why should any one believe Republicans, or Democrats? Did Republicans not waste tax payer’s money, ran big Govt? Who bailed out banks? Bush.

Is this a high school term paper?

Seriously…Even then it would get at least a D (I didn’t see too many spelling errors). Is there a source to back a single one of these assertions? Evidence to back a single one of these opinions?

How did THIS make it to Google News?

  4. Chris says:

This article is not news. It is opinion. It is skewed to the benefit of the Tea Party, rather than objective observation. Know this when you read it.

  5. The Voice of Reason says:

The Tea party will vote republican in the election. That’s obvious. Weak article, very weak. A point of advice, change the format of your articles. You’ve got 3 google adds plopped right in the center and why do you have section headers when the sections are a just a little paragragh. This thing is a measly 17 sentances.

Unions recieve property tax levies, news to me.

” The Tea Party should adhere to the tried and true principles of Capitalism before it became crony capitalism”

Capatilism has always been crony capitalism, don’t fool yourself.

We didn’t need much organization for the love-ins in the sixties when we would all meet in the local parks. We still managed to get the issues of the day discussed.

I feel the reason behind most of our troubles and the need for TEA Parties is the government’s ability to print up whatever money it wants to get their way.

Maybe this will help make the danger of fiat money clear.

Imagine you and me are setting across from each other. We create enough money to represent all of the world’s wealth. Each one of us has one SUPER Dollar in front of him.

You own half of everything and so do I.

I’m the government though. I get bribed into creating a Central Bank.

You’re not doing what I want you to be doing so I print up myself eight more SUPER Dollars to manipulate you with.

All of a sudden your SUPER Dollar only represents one tenth of the wealth of the world!

That isn’t the only thing though. You need to get busy and get to work because YOU’VE BEEN STIFFED with the bill for the money I PRINTED UP to get YOU TO DO what I WANTED.

That to me represents what has been happening to the economy, and us, and why so many of our occupations just can’t keep up with the fake money presses.

They have been beating us with our own stick!!!!1

You really must think Tea Party members are dolts, to swallow this, that they must band together to protect the interest of their rich benefactors. Oh please.
