Recently the Toyota vehicle manufacturing corporation has recalled many of its vehicles. The latest being the Toyota Corolla with steering problems.  The amount of recalled vehicles now almost 9 million and possibly counting. Over the last couple of weeks Toyota began having problems with its accelerator and brake pedals. This has caused a significant problems for both the company and consumers. The corporate executives have tried very hard to fix the problem and are hoping to have this matter resolved in a timely manner. Although the problem has been addressed and efforts are being made to fix it.  Toyota has recalled many models and this has cost the company billions of dollars.

Hazards Of The Defects

Toyota has had to recall over nine million vehicles over the last couple of weeks because of a problem with the brake and accelerator pedals. The pedals have stuck and would not come back up to a normal position. This defect has become a big safety hazard as people who want to control their vehicle will have a very hard time. For instance if someone wants to stop their car, they can do that but when they need to proceed, the brake won’t come back up so the vehicle will be stuck. The reverse scenario can happen where a driver’s vehicle can stop prematurely and therefore cause an accident. An accelerator that won’t come back up can prevent the vehicle from stopping and also cause an accident. A brake and accelerator problem will make driving the vehicles extremely dangerous.

Financial Losses For The Company

Due to the significant defect of the vehicle, Toyota has had to recall many models and this has proven to be very costly. According to sources, Toyota is likely to lose billions of dollars because of the defect. Due to the massive recall and billions of dollars being lost, Toyota can suffer financially and have a damaging effect on an already shaky economy. If they lose billions of dollars, they may have to lay off workers and therefore contribute to more job losses, especially in the United States and therefore cause more economic turmoil.

Recall Effects On Customer Satisfaction

The recent recall is also going to have a considerable effect on its customers. Since the vehicles are unable to be driven due to the defect, many customers will look to buy new car from another vehicle manufacturer and therefore cause Toyota to lose customers. This will also contribute to financial losses for the company and also put them in position to lose credibility among current and future customers.
