Little Known Advantages Of A Bill Consolidation Or Debt Help Program
By Janet Peterson on March 14, 2010, 6:01 am Posted in Business NewsDue to economic conditions many people are forced to enter into a debt consolidation program to help reduce monthly payments or rid themselves of debt. While lowering debt is an obvious advantage of a debt consolidation loan, there are various other advantages of debt consolidation plans that are less known and often not considered.
Extra Tax Deductions
The first little known advantage of a debt or bill consolidation program is that it could lead to extra tax deductions. In some situations if you place your first mortgage into the bill consolidation program, the interest your pay on other expenses could be tax deductible as well. This could be extremely advantageous because the interest you pay on credit cards or personal loans is never deductible. Normally, this will not apply if the principal balance of all your debts exceeds the appraised value of your home.
Just One Monthly Payment
Another little known or considered advantage of a debt and bill consolidation program is that you will drastically reduce the amount of loan payments you need to make each month. One reason why many people fall behind on loan or credit payments is because they forget to make a payment. If you have just one bill to pay each month then you will have a much easier time remembering to make your payment. Over a long period of time having to make just one payment will also save a significant amount of time and money.
Improved Credit
The third advantage of a debt and bill consolidation program is that eventually your credit will improve. By consolidating your debt you will have an easier time getting on a good financial track. Within a few years of consolidating your debt, your credit score should begin to improve dramatically.

Yes, I was wondering I have a company that has consolidated my bills. Mostly credit card debt. I would be debt free by July next year. I now have a creditor that wants me to pay another $35.00 on top of the 400.00 that they are getting. They do not want the consolidation to continue paying. This creditor is taking me to court so I can pay the 435.00 each month to them personally. They feel that they are not getting enough. Can they do this? Should I get a lawyer to fight this? Please let me know. Thanks, Mrs Slagel
